A fragrant fruit note for tea and homemade drinks
Dried quince brings the aroma of ripe fruit and a naturally bright tartness to a drink. The chopped pieces are easy to measure: add them straight to a teapot, brew them on their own or use them when preparing a homemade fruit compote.
The pack contains dried quince only, with no added sugar, oil, flavourings, colourings or preservatives.
Quince in the Persian culinary tradition
Quince, known in Iran as beh, has long held a place in Persian cooking. The fresh fruit has traditionally been used in preserves, syrups and sweet-and-sour dishes. Drying makes its characteristic aroma available beyond the short fresh-fruit season and turns it into a convenient everyday ingredient.
Our quince comes from Iran and has a simple, single-ingredient form. It is a useful choice for anyone who prefers to build the flavour of tea with real fruit instead of a ready-made flavoured blend.
Ways to use dried quince
- add a few pieces to black, green or fruit tea;
- brew a delicate fruit infusion;
- combine with cinnamon, ginger, cloves or orange peel;
- use in homemade fruit compote;
- add while cooking porridge or create your own dried-fruit infusion blend.
Preparation
For tea or an infusion: add 1–2 teaspoons of dried quince to approximately 250 ml of hot water or to a pot of your chosen tea. Cover and steep for 8–10 minutes. Use more fruit or steep a little longer for a fuller flavour.
For compote: add the quince to other fruit and simmer until the drink reaches the desired aroma. Adjust the quantity to the volume of liquid and your taste.
